“One of the best grammar programs I've ever taught!”
I purchased this grammar program a couple of years ago and only began using it last year. I have enjoyed teaching grammar to my 6th grade students using Richbaub's Introduction to Middle School Grammar. It has been a huge success. I wasn't sure about starting with prepositions, but as I moved along it began to make more sense. I also have a preposition song that I taught the kids, so even at the end of the program, some were still using it to help them remember their preps thereby helping them identify the other parts of a sentence.
The lessons and exercises are short and to the point. The program also builds on itself so that the students are constantly practicing previously learned skills. By the time we got to sentence diagramming, the students had no problems at all.
One of my students was taking a world language class this past summer and the teacher commented on how well she knew her grammar. My student told her that she had learned everything she needed to know about grammar in her 6th grade language arts class (and I give the credit to this program). The teacher was very impressed and explained that usually she had to take a week or two to reteach the grammar to her high school students! However, because my student knew it so well, her teacher went right into teaching her the world language. This really impressed my student's mother—and that's always a good thing!
So, if you are looking for an awesome grammar program that teaches the basics plus reinforces grammar in writing, then this is the program for you.

My district is having teachers teach students in the classroom and students at home at the same time. It is overwhelming. I grew tired of spending ridiculous amounts of time converting grammar units from paper versions to online versions for those students at home. So, I purchased [the digital interactive student workbook] which is in Google Slides and can be used by both groups. It also starts with having students identify prepositional phrases, which is how I have always thought I should start. Once they can identify those, it makes all of the other parts of speech easy to identify in sentences. Plus, it helps greatly in their writing right from the beginning of the year.

Richbaub's Introduction to Middle School Grammar is a great resource, and the series--with topics broken down in more detail in two separate books--are even better (Academy Grammar 1 & 2). This series aided me in helping students who had limited knowledge of grammar rise to grade-level awareness.
Richbaub’s books introduce grammar components in a way that is not overwhelming to students. For example, rather than beginning with the sentence and its parts (as many grammar books do), Richbaub's always begins with prepositional phrases. Each subsequent chapter helps increase students' awareness of grammar by building on previously learned topics.
Richbaub's is a useable classroom tool; I recommend Richbaub’s without reservation.
"Very well written"
I was very happy to learn that this grammar book has now been expanded to two parts (Academy Grammar 1 & 2). In the past I used the original Richbaub's (Richbaub’s Introduction to Middle School Grammar) with my 6th grade students, and I was forced to find another product when they moved on to seventh grade. This will allow me to stay with the same program for two years. I found the book to be very well-written, and I look forward to using it next year.
